The holy gates of Yamunotri and Gangotri will open on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, 19 April 2026. The portal of Yamunotri Temple is likely to close on 11 November 2026 on Bhai Dooj, after which the palanquin of Goddess Yamuna is brought back to the Shani Dev Temple in Kharsali for the winter months.<\/p>\n

The trek runs mostly along the right bank of the Yamuna River, beginning with a gradual climb through scenic forests and waterfalls from Janki Chatti.<\/p>\n

For the 2026 Char Dham Yatra, registration<\/a> is compulsory for all pilgrims. The Uttarakhand government uses a GPS-based monitoring system to track registered pilgrims \u2014 ensuring safety and regulating crowd numbers at each shrine. No darshan is allowed without registration.<\/p>\n
